How to make Daisy Cupcakes

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to make these delicious cupcakes that are not only tasty but also look like beautiful daisies. 


Ingredients

For the cupcakes, you'll need: - 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour - 1 tsp baking powder - 1/2 tsp salt - 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature - 1 cup granulated sugar - 2 large eggs, at room temperature - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 1/2 cup whole milk, at room temperature - Yellow food coloring (optional) For the frosting, you'll need: - 1 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature - 2 cups powdered sugar - 1 tsp vanilla extract - 2-3 tbsp whole milk - Green food coloring (optional). 


Instructions

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a muffin tin with paper or silicone cupcake liners. 

2. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, sift together the flour, baking powder, and salt. 

3. In a separate mixing bowl, cream the butter and sugar until light and fluffy, using either a stand mixer or a hand mixer. 

4. Add the eggs one at a time, scraping down the sides of the bowl as you go. Stir in the vanilla extract. 

5. Alternately add the dry ingredients and the milk to the butter mixture, beginning and ending with the dry ingredients. 

6. If desired, add a few drops of yellow food coloring to the batter until you achieve the desired shade of yellow. 

7. Fill each cupcake liner about 2/3 of the way with the batter. 

8. Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the center of a cupcake. Remove from the oven and cool completely before frosting. 

9. In a medium-sized mixing bowl, cream the butter until light and fluffy. 

10. Gradually add the powdered sugar, stirring after each addition. 

11. Add the vanilla extract and milk, and continue to mix until the frosting is smooth and creamy. 

12. If desired, add a few drops of green food coloring to the frosting until you achieve the desired shade of green. 

13. Using a pastry bag fitted with a star tip, pipe the frosting onto each cupcake in a swirl pattern. Start at the center of the cupcake and work your way out to the edges. 

14. To create the daisy shape, start at the edge of the cupcake and pipe a small petal shape. Repeat around the edge of the cupcake to create a circle. 

15. Continue piping larger petal shapes as you move inward toward the center of the cupcake. 

16. Finish by piping a small dot of frosting in the center of the cupcake to create the yellow center of the daisy.
